Straggle String Fly Tying Material and The S.S. Deep Purple Nymph Pattern

Learn to how to tie the S.S. Deep Purple Nymph Pattern in this YouTube fly tying tutorial by Christian Bacasa

The S.S. Depp Purple is a mayfly imitator and is applicable whenever you have smaller mayfly nymphs in the water. I've had particularly good luck with the pattern during callibaetis, PMD, and green drake emergence.

The marabou tail seems to drive fish nuts and entices some incredibly aggressive takes. Cutthroat trout, in particular, has been a target species with great success but I've seen similar results with brown trout and rainbow trout during mayfly emergence.
